As a sculptor and photographer Egied Simons is fascinated by the experience of space. As a sculptor he works with all sorts of materials, also with the most fragile and volatile; as a photographer he paints with light, preferably with the matter itself. By using structures, stratification, openness and densification, he constructs landscape spheres. Sometimes this leads to sculptures and installations, sometimes to interventions in public space. He is interested in participating in (international) projects based on certain themes, locations and communities.
